Job Description

Summary

  • The Project Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager, primarily responsible for providing engineering support on various projects.

Primary Duties /  Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of energy efficiency projects under the guidance of a senior  engineer or project manager.
  • Conduct energy audits in commercial buildings, government buildings, healthcare buildings, laboratories, and industrial sites.
  • Conduct energy analysis, including utility bill analysis, interval data analysis, and utility rate analysis.
  • Perform trend data analysis and identify system faults and deficiencies.
  • Perform energy savings calculations, including lighting, HVAC, controls, and renewable energy (solar, wind, etc.).
  • Assist in field inspections, systems startup, calibration, point-to-point, and functional testing of building systems and controls.
  • Become familiar with IPMVP, and assists with M&V activities.
  • Assist with drafting the detailed scope of work and specifications for proposed energy projects.
  • Writing technical reports and memos.
  • Performing focused research on energy efficiency, controls, and sustainable technologies.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Building Science

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment
  • Ability to work closely within a team environment
  • Good time management skills
  • Programming skills in R or Python a plus

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

  • EIT preferred

Physical Requirements / Work Environment 

  • This role requires traveling to job sites roughly 25% of the time.
  • Be able to climb up and down ladders.

Additional Information

  • Salary minimum $65,000 to maximum $90,000

  • Veolia's comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental and vision insurance.   In addition, employees are also entitled to participate in an employer sponsored 401(k) plan, to save for retirement.  Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.
