Position Purpose:
As a member of our team, you will be working on a wide range of operational and technical issues across hazardous waste management, and industrial water utility operations. You will report to the T&P Senior Technical Director (industrial support) Senior Managers are assigned to more than one project at any point in time and also work in close collaboration with our corporate functions as well as operational teams on site.
Primary Duties/responsibilities:
- Produce basic conceptual design of new treatment lines for hazardous wastes
- liquid hazardous waste (oil water separation, evapoconcentration, physico-chemical separative technologies, neutralisation & redox reactions, membrane bioreactors & MBBR, NF/RO membranes, mineral and organic sludge dewatering)
- incineration
- recycling opportunities
- landfill and associated activities
- Do troubleshooting of existing HW processes and build debottlenecking/revamping/growth plans with operational teams
- Train operational teams to raise their technical background
- Develop new process optimizations or pilot new technologies, coordinating some tests with corporate functions (BS&P)
- Test and implement new tools under development (Hermod)
- Train operational teams to raise their technical background
- Work in cooperation with Performance team members.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
- Undergraduate degree Engineering / Environment
- Master’s preferred
- Exceptional problem-solving ability with logical reasoning, creative thinking and experience-based judgment to complex challenges.
- Combined experience of process design and operations (incineration and liquid treatments)
- Incineration background will be a plus
- Know-how in engineering, design
- Knowledge in safety in design and process safety in general
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Open-minded and able to take a non-conventional approach to problem solving where precedent may not exist.
- Eager to learn from others and ability to transfer knowledge to team members and operational teams
- Intellectual curiosity and drive to succeed.
- Ability to develop credibility with people at all organizational levels, build strong relationships.

- Able to communicate complex ideas clearly both in written and verbal formats.

- Must possess strong time management skills and have a demonstrated ability to work in both team and independent settings.
- Strong PC skills are essential with high proficiency in MS Office Suite/Google Suite.
- Ability to travel in North America and overseas for specific missions/projects
- Fluent in English, any other language among French, Spanish,... is welcome
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural international context
- Ability to convince and train plant managers and operational teams
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time with good reactivity and prioritizing
