This position will provide support in multiple areas of the project.
Current pay range: $18.50-$19.00/hr
(1) Responsible for observing the opacity of emissions generated from the coking making process and recording the observations in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. The data collected is entered into a database. Must be able to communicate observations to operations, supervisors and client contacts. This portion of the role requires working in a heavy industrial environment with strict safety requirements. The role requires working outdoors and requires walking, climbing steps, acclimation to heat and cold. The role requires individuals to be available to work 5-days per week that may include Saturday and Sunday. Shifts may be longer than 8-hours per day therefore individuals will be required to work overtime if delays in the operations occur. Must be able to obtain the necessary medical clearances to wear a respirator.
(2) Responsible for inputting and evaluating air monitoring results using Microsoft Access and other computer programs. Knowledge of Air Permitting, Stack Testing and monitoring associated with air permits is desired.
(3) Responsible for inputting and managing the NPDES (water permit) data using the client database system. Entering data and generating reports for the client and using the early warning notification system for data out of range is part of the support provided.
Qualifications
- Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions).
- Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Some experience in a related position or industrial environment preferred.
- Must demonstrate ability to work and communicate in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Computer skills including Microsoft and Google programs.
- Must obtain (or have) a Method 9 certification within a designated time frame.
- Must be able to serve rotational 24 hour emergency on-call if required by site.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check
- High School Diploma or GED required
