Job Description
Summary
Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal, and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal container or storage room and manage drum pad(s) as required. Sort and package wastes by recycle category. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
Collects plant trash, recyclables and hazardous waste from various locations throughout the plant.
- Transports waste/recyclables from the plant floor to disposal container and/or storage room
- Loads semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center.
- Maintains plant’s drum pad or 90 day storage room in accordance to federal regulations.
- If applicable, provides copies of shipping paperwork to manager.
- Documents and informs manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling containers.
- If applicable, completes daily route sheets.
- Breakdown of scrap parts for repair or recycling (certain assembly plants only).
- Operates mobile equipment (fork-truck, tugger, cart, walkie).
- Sorts incoming material for recycling.
- Safely operates baler, sorting conveyor and other equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance (PM) and safety checks on mobile equipment.
- Follows all site specific safety guidelines.
- Responsible for his/her own safety and work quality while on the job.
- Any indicated site-specific responsibilities.

- Able to work varying shifts
- Fork truck experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Current drivers license preferred.
