POSITION PURPOSE
Manages all activities to ensure the successful delivery of assigned small and medium sized capital infrastructure projects from inception to completion. Works closely with Operations personnel in accomplishing successful project delivery. Performs portions of new business activities as directed by the Construction Coordinator. Participates in and actively contributes to short and long-term system planning as assigned for Suez Idaho operations. Assists and collaborates with licensed engineers on plan designs. Assists the Engineering group in achieving all department and corporate metrics and goals as appropriate. Designs and drafts plans for pump stations, pressure reducing stations, pipelines, and other water system facilities. Obtains easements, long-term leases, permits, property purchase agreements, and the like for new and replacement water facilities.
Responsible to manage and deliver CapEx projects amounting to approximately $1.5M annually.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successfully manage roll-up type and other assigned capital expenditure projects in accordance with assigned project schedules and budgets
- Prepares and monitors capital expenditure funding project authorizations for projects
- Designs and drafts plans for pump stations, pressure reducing stations, pipelines, and other water system facilities
- Develops and manages project plans, specifications, cost estimates, bidding documents, and oversees construction for assigned projects
- Participates in and actively contributes to short and long-term system planning as assigned for Idaho operations
- Collaborates with the Construction Supervisor to accomplish design and construction oversight for assigned facilities on new developments
- Coordinates internal resources to ensure accurate and timely plan reviews of assigned facilities for new developments
- Collaborates with Operations Planning team to effectively coordinate and schedule work and projects
- Manages/coordinates project closeout and acceptance with operations personnel
- Performs actual cost vs. estimate look-back assessments on completed projects
- Works with agencies, landowners, and legal staff to obtain easements, long-term leases, crossings, permits and the like for planned facilities
- Provides weekly and monthly reports to management regarding the status of capital projects and issues affecting project performance
- Develops and proposes solutions to correct project performance deficiencies
- Responds to fire flow requests or acts as backup staff as needed
- Reviews designs by others to assure conformance with company standards
- Performs all job responsibilities and duties in compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and security laws, rules, policies, programs, and training
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires both in office and field visits. A majority of the time, one will spend long hours in a seated position while operating computer systems. A portion of the time, one will conduct site visits and may be exposed to inclement weather and uneven surfaces. One must have the ability to drive to off-site locations to perform site visits.
Education / Experience / Background
- BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and/or work experience
- Valid local state driver’s license required
- Minimum of 5-years’ experience in project management or project delivery work
- Minimum of 3-years’ AutoCAD experience
- Experience in water or wastewater system design, maintenance, and/or operations preferred

Required Certification / Licenses / Training
- Professional licensing required
- Ability to obtain Professional Project Management Professional certification (PMP) required within first year of employment
- Industry certifications preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
