Medical Assistant

Vera Dermatology is seeking a medical assistant to join our boutique dermatology practice. We keep losing our MAs for the BEST reason - they keep getting into medical school and PA school! You will be working side-by-side with a board-certified dermatologist and physician assistant in providing medical, cosmetic, and surgical care to our patients. This position is perfect for a pre-health student who wants to gain more patient care experience and mentorship from a dermatologist and dermatology PAs. No experience is needed, as we are willing to train you in all aspects of dermatology and help you reach your future goals.

Roles:

• Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, obtain health forms and insurance cards.
• Answer patient calls including scheduling appointments and triaging patient questions.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and check insurance coverage benefits.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and ask about their chief complaint and history, recording in to the electronic health record.
• First assist in procedures including biopsies, excisions, and Mohs surgery.
• Autoclave surgical equipment and clean patient rooms.
• Scribe for providers and record the physical exam findings, assessment, and plan.
• Participate in team meetings and educational sessions.

Requirements:

• Minimum associates degree.
• Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese or Spanish required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and time-management skills.
• Excellent typing skills.
• Outstanding people skills and a warm, friendly manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
