Verbio is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Process Operator, for its biomethane and ethanol production facility located at 59219 Lincoln Highway, Nevada, IA 50201.
WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOU
The Plant Operator is responsible for the operation of all Ethanol processing equipment and performing routine basic maintenance in a highly automated chemical facility. In the area of maintenance, Plant Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, basic repair, and cleaning of all equipment associated with bioprocessing processes. At times, Plant Operators may be asked to assist Maintenance Operators in more technical and complex maintenance procedures. Team members in this position are required to maintain knowledge of the process flow, computerized equipment, and be aware of hazards associated with the process as well as understand and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs). Continuous plant operation requires 12-hour shift work. Plant Operators must be able to adapt to 12-hour workdays and be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.
This is a full-time hourly position ($40 /hour for experienced operators) including health, dental, vision, 401(k), vacation, sign-on bonus available, relocation eligible, and other employee benefits.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful performance as a Plant Operator or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge in math, reading comprehension and mechanical reasoning
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change
- Know basics of Microsoft Office Suite. You’re capable of learning new programs
- Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day, in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a production environment
- Experience with software systems, such as PCS7 or ABB
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operation of all plant processing equipment and performing routine basic maintenance in a highly automated chemical facility
- Operate the DCS (Distributed Control System) for the plant
- Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production
- Inspect product to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform basic asset care duties to include routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of the work area
- Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
- Operate and/or work around mobile equipment safely
- Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
- Follow procedures for plant start-up, shut-down, cleaning, and batching
- Maintain accurate and timely logs
- Collect and test quality control samples, interpret QA/QC results, and make adjustments to optimize plant operations, timely and accurately document results and enter results into our data collection system, PI
- Keep your plant safe by fostering a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance
- Provide backup support to other roles as needed
- Additional duties, as assigned
