Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Reports To: Quality Assurance Team Lead
Schedule: 2:00pm-10:30pm, M-F.
Overview:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for assuring adherence to the Plant’s Quality Assurance programs. They will be a key member of the team and engaged in establishing, implementing, documenting and monitoring Food Safety and Quality programs at the Verde Farm’s facility. In addition, this person will assist in the development of programs that will address any opportunities and implement program upgrades. This is a hands-on position with majority of the time spent on the production floor during plant production hours. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Team Lead.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Performing pre and/or post operational inspections.
Monitor and document adherence to the food safety program, CCPs and CPs.
Assure observance and execution of the policies and procedures (i.e., GMP Policy and Personnel Hygiene Policy).
Performing calibration checks, including but not limited to thermometers, scale and other process monitoring devices.
Accountable for accurate documentation, recordkeeping and maintenance of documents assigned to QA care.
Work a flexible schedule as needed to ensure proper coverage during all production times
Required to have working knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis / Critical Control Point) and FSQA.
Assist QA Manager in different projects as needed.
Orientation and qualification of new employees as assigned
Training and execution of new safety and quality programs
Function with minimal supervision or assistance.
Competencies:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training.
Ability to multi-task and communicate with personnel of all levels and cultural backgrounds.
Able to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changes and in a very fast paced environment.
Knowledgeable of food production methods, sanitary standards and hygiene practices.
Food quality or food safety background, especially with meat products, preferred.
Available to work weekends and off-hours to support the department and the company.
Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; must have good vision.
Must be comfortable walking for extended periods of time in a cold environment.
Strong ability to work autonomously and effectively meet deadlines.
Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
Experience working with Microsoft and Google Suite.
Experience working with Redzone, preferred but not required.
Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
Salary : $21 - $23
