Job Description
The Content Marketing Manager plans and develops thought leadership and brand awareness stories, articles, reports and other content materials to fuel the brand building, demand generation and event presence across the Vericast product portfolio. This position will be responsible for content to engage the financial institution and emerging markets B2B audiences specifically. However, the role will also support the evolution of the master Vericast brand story.
This role will collaborate with complementary functions across the organization, including product marketing, demand generation, event marketing, social media, brand, corporate communications, client strategy and sales. The role will take input on priorities and opportunities from these constituents to plan and develop thought leadership content to support their efforts.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Planning – 20% Creating a content strategy that encourages Vericast brand awareness among the financial institution and emerging market audiences and that supports deeper engagement with solution-specific conversations. This includes:
· Creating and sharing a long- and short-term content publishing calendar
· Collaborating with demand generation, brand, corporate communications, events and product marketing to ensure the creation and curation of content to cover the appropriate topics, marketing stages, and – when appropriate – products
· Performing audits of existing and historic content to refresh and optimize it for traffic, voice and continued relevance
· Following industry trends and competitor audits and finding ways to apply the insight to content in the pipeline
Content Development – 50% Developing the content assets needed to support the Vericast brand awareness strategy and the financial institutions and emerging market audience engagement strategies. This includes:
· Identifying content opportunities, storylines and content formats/presentations that establish Vericast as a trendsetter generally, and specifically within the financial institution and emerging markets verticals.
· Creating compelling storylines and content packaging that grab the attention of the target audience(s) in a very noisy and cluttered marketplace
· Identifying, developing and nurturing content sources, such as external surveys, internal data and subject matter experts
· Managing the appropriate internal and external resources to organize, write, design and otherwise produce specific content deliverables on time and on budget, with an emphasis on creativity and innovation
· Collaborating with demand generation, brand, social media, corporate communications, events, product marketing and sales to ensure the form and substance of the content assets are effective for engaging the target market(s)
Content Deployment – 30% Collaborating with demand generation, corporate communications, events, marketing, social media and product marketing to develop a plan to ensure use of, promotion for and engagement with all major content deliverables. This includes:
· Creating a launch plan for internally and externally announcing major content releases
· Collaborating with corporate communication on storylines for media inquiries as well as briefing subject matter experts to speak on topics that can be informed by the content
· Providing input and direction on content- and topic-specific landing pages for use in demand generation campaigns
· Recommending how content should be incorporated into the Vericast web and social media presence
· Identifying opportunities for atomizing content for use in different content formats (such as videos or infographics or input for an event execution)
· Establishing metrics and timelines for evaluating content success
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree (Required)
• 4 - 6 years Relevant Experience (Required)
• Experience with marketing to financial institutions a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to shape powerful messages and narratives that resonate with customers
• Dual focus on detail and strategy to ensure all content is consistent with brand guidelines while adhering to brand- and vertical-level strategy
• Strong grasp of marketing and content marketing fundamentals
• Strong journalistic instincts to the find, develop and deliver the relevant stories
• Strong presentation skills including the ability to craft stores that persuade and inspire
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Ability to work well both in group and solo settings
• Strong results-orientation with a track record of success
• Ability to work in short, fast-paced cycles with a self-starter mentality
• Ability to make tradeoffs and manage priorities of inbound work to drive results and deliver on time
• Ability and willingness to innovate, push the boundaries of conventional wisdom and iterate and refine new ideas quickly
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
