Project Manager

Title: Project Manager

Location: Syracuse, NY/ Fort Wayne, IN (Onsite)

Duration: Full Time

Job Detail:

1. Supports the development of a portfolio plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
2. Supports multiple projects for the organization and communicating priorities internally
3. Utilization of project management principles and tools (schedule, budget, plans, templates) to manage and communicate all phases of the project lifecycle
4. Works across functional departments to develop achievable project scope, schedules, budgets, and plans for approval
5. Identifies potential risks and issues and communicates/escalates as appropriate during the project lifecycle
6. Ensures project execution and governance by tracking deadlines, deliverables, resources, and timelines throughout the project process.
7. Facilitates business and technical reviews as required by the Carrier Passport (phase gate) process
8. Manage and communicate project progress to stakeholders at the various levels throughout the organization through established meetings and as necessitated by project developments
9. Identify processes and activities to improve projects and ensure their success from project requirements definition (inception) through to closure (completion) and lessons learned review
10. Drive the implementation and development of PM standard work and best practices throughout the organization

Key Qualifications:

1. Four year degree (BA/BS) in technical or related discipline
2. 5 year of experience in a product development environment (agile, stage gate) using PM methodologies for status tracking, reporting, and risk management.
3. Project management professional certification (e.g. CAPM, PMP) from the Program Management Institute (PMI) or the ability to achieve certification in 12 months from date of hire
4. Willingness to learn PM performance management applications (MS Project or equivalent)
5. Working knowledge of Earned Value Management concepts, tools, analysis and corrective actions
6. Effective communication skills both written and verbal to various levels of an organization both verbally and in writing
7. Good presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Active certification from Project Management Institute: PMP, PGMP, CAPM, ACP, etc.
2. Experience with development in a highly regulated environment (product compliance to global standards and certifications)
3. Experience with Changepoint PPM (Daptiv) software or similar application
4. Management of product development projects in excess of
