Veris is seeking a QC Inspector to perform visual, electrical and dimensional inspection of PCB assemblies. This position will be responsible for performing in-process inspections, receiving inspections and final assembly while recording results and preparing various quality documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned).

  • Read blueprints and/or engineering specifications to obtain information such as specified material, electrical, cosmetic requirements and workmanship instructions
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies to ensure workmanship which complies with the appropriate requirements from engineering drawings, process specifications, IPC-610 standards, J-STD-001 and customer specific criteria
  • Performs inspection on electrical or electronic components by using electrical meters or instruments to deter adherence to electrical specifications
  • Input data into Statistical Process Control (SPC) data base and evaluate
  • Perform and record results of first article inspections of boards after SMT and Thru-Hole
  • Uses precision measuring instruments to determine adherence to electrical specifications
  • Verify completeness of documentation as required per work order traveler and internal procedures
  • Use computer to review various types of documents and navigate within internal system
  • Perform line, in-process, sub-assembly, shipping, and receiving inspection as required
  • Assist in failure investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action activities and quality improvement projects

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of related inspection experience in electronics manufacturing

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English both in writing and verbally at the general business level

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, specifications and PCB gerbers
  • Skilled in electrically measuring resistors and capacitors
  • Ability to operate AOI equipment is desirable
  • Expertise in reading component values by inspecting parts
  • Knowledge of various computer programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe)

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • IPC-610 and/or J-STD-001 Certification is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
