The Sr Accountant develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems, such as General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Revenue Reconciliation systems. This position reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. The Sr Accountant facilitates the monthly processing of Financial Statements to ensure accuracy and completion on a timely basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, income statement, statement of cashflows, local statutory reporting and other required internal or external reporting by providing timely, accurate, concise reports and analysis.
- Participates in the setup and application of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, deferred revenue, fixed assets, prepayments, cash, accruals, intercompany and various other transactions in accordance with the company's policies.
- Monitors and develops monthly reports on revenues, expenditures and balance sheet fluctuations for internal and/or external use, and interprets and provides meaningful analysis for managers and stakeholders.
- Compiles and analyzes data to prepare entries to general ledger accounts and adequately documents business transactions. Maintains and balances general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Provides accurate record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions timely.
- Assists in documentation and monitoring of internal controls. Participates in quarterly and annual audit related activities (and statutory audits) as requested.
Relevant experience:
- 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience, required; Graduate Degree, preferred
- 5 years accounting experience
- A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of the accounting and financial functions and is able to resolve a wide range of issues using analytical and problem-solving skills
- Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports
- Able to apply a broad range of accounting theories, concepts, principles and methodologies
- Solid understanding of foreign currency application and revaluation
- Attention to detail is essential for this position
