Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing occupational therapy services in accordance with the current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as may be directed by the Director of Rehabilitation, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning therapy services - to include patients and family.
- Assists in developing, implementing and coordinating patient care plans for individual patients in coordination and conjunction with the patient's assessment.
- Briefs patients of procedures involved in physical therapy and prepares necessary equipment - reassures patients before and during therapy treatments.
- Determines proper equipment usage, application and body position; makes adjustments when necessary in the administration of physical therapy treatments.
- Recommends modifications of changes in the patient’s therapy program based on evaluation of progress.
- Ensures that all therapy notes are informative, descriptive and follow Company’s policy and procedures.
Education/Certifications:
· Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy required
· Master degree in Occupational Therapy preferred
· Current state license in OT
Experience and Specific Requirements:
- Should have as a minimum, 1 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.
- Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must possess good judgment and have the ability to maintain highly confidential information.
- Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance and requirements
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals and objectives of the department as it relates to the Company
Salary: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
