What you’ll be doing...
The Manager for Security & Risk Management in the Corporate Systems Group (CSG) will be responsible for being the technical lead for end to end Application Security for 230 Applications. The Manager will ensure that systems and information assets are adequately protected and maintain the risk level within the thresholds defined by CISO organization. This position will manage a security governance team driving key security programs partnering with cross-organizational stakeholders, application teams and security mavens. The right candidate will provide executive level support and ensure alignment across the organization including executive awareness of risks and prioritizes. This position will provide day to day guidance and direction to a team of highly skilled Security engineers with expertise in information security. This is a working leadership position, requiring the candidate to both be technically proficient in multiple domains of security as well as demonstrating the ability to partner and collaborate with internal and external teams to mature Verizon’s security posture.
The Manager will lead a team responsible for:
- Implement and drive effective Security strategies for CSG applications to improve cyber risk posture in alignment with the overall Verizon Cybersecurity
- Maintain Security and compliance KPIs / Metrics for all applications at ED / VP level
- Implement CyberDefense automation capabilities by partnering with Platform teams.
- Enhance operational excellence by biuildingSecure SDLC and Proactive Security practices.
- Communicates security risks in business terms that can be clearly understood at all levels of the organization
- Partner with CISO, Legal and application teams to mitigate risks and resolve vulnerabilities in a timely manner
- Developing best practice technical security requirements that focus on risk reduction through expert knowledge in technology and security controls.
- Providing technical assessment of Security control deployment in CSG,providing control implementation guidance, technical reviews to the Product teams.
- Responsible for managing and developing a team of employees including training, development, performance management, administration, and workforce planning.

What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Accelerated degree.
- Seven ormore years of cybersecurity experience.
- Kowledge of NIST CSF Frameworks.
- Strong communication skills including strong verbal presentation skills. Able to present and communicate at all levels of the organization including senior management.
- Experience in information security.
- Analytical skills who is able to interpret complex information and adapt as needed.
- Experience working in matrix environment with globally diverse team members.
- CISSP, CISM or related certification.
