As a Principal Data Protection Architect, you will drive innovation, profitability, revenue, and business growth opportunities by applying advanced database modeling skills with Real-time/data warehouse data architecture strategy and design principles to support metrics, analytics, AI/ML, and self-service business intelligence across the enterprise ensuring data access security to sensitive privacy data. This role will require leadership for projects with a strong focus on enterprise data protection needs, coupled with a deep understanding of data organization, database design, data governance strategy, ER data modeling, metadata, data lineage, data classification and taxonomy, table design, data security, semantic layer view design, data catalog, data linkage designs supporting a unified data model to be used across the organization for Analytics, Operational reporting, Executive dashboards, scorecards, Regulatory reporting, AI/ML, and data insights. This position is integral in supporting the enterprise Data protection architecture for warehouse projects and the data marketplace. You will work on a cross-functional team of legal, corporate security, governance teams, business clients, software designers, data engineers, and platform engineers to play a key role in requirements, design, and in developing and delivering the next generation enterprise data warehouse solutions with a focused on data security and data privacy principles for implementation.
You’ll gather detailed business requirements from clients, work with enterprise architects and work jointly on data designs to support applications/metrics, design data interfaces and stores as required, lead data architecture and data product deliverables, and oversee development and QA activities supporting data governance, Operational reporting, insights, and analytics.
- Ensuring appropriate data security controls and architecture are in place to support data protection authentication and authorization to control unauthorized access to data.
- Gaining a deep understanding of business domain data and architecting the set of strategies and processes to be used to secure the privacy, availability, and integrity of data in the EDW.
- Data Security and information privacy data architecture and strategy.
- Ensuring the integrity of data designs with data protection for data products.
- Initiating data protection design reviews.
- Building strong working relationships and develop deep partnerships with corporate security, enterprise architecture, and data stewards.
- Serving in a SME role for all aspects and dimensions involving data protection to ensure integration with architectural blueprint.
- Being a subject matter expert on data protection technologies & architectures, and current industry best practices.
- Leading and driving the data design and protection architecture culture through technical innovation by actively researching and benchmarking new tools, industry best practices, new theories, techniques, and technologies.

You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant data protection architecture expertise.
- Experience architecting data protection and sharing solutions and processes.
- Knowledge pertaining to data access controls, encryption, data masking, tokenization, deletions and erasure of data, backup and recovery.
- Experience with Data Protection services on Google Cloud Platform.
- Working current knowledge of data protection policies and regulations like General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Experience with data architecture design and responsibilities to ensuring that system privacy requirements are adequately addressed in all aspects of the enterprise data architecture blueprint and playbook.
Even better if you have:
- A degree. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, or Information Systems with five or more years of data security work experience.
- Data Security, privacy, and access management certifications.
- Eight or more years of relevant work experience in data warehouse environments designing security architectures.
- Experience in leading data protection architecture projects delivering from end to end.
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing and Data Lake architectures and implementations (three or more years of data strategy, design, and implementation experience with big data architectures).
- Knowledge of corporate data security roles and data classification (onshore, offshore, off-premise).
- An ability to simultaneously manage and lead project deliverables across multiple swim lanes.
- Experience in data catalog (ICP4D preferred) and data protection strategies, standards, and toolsets.
- Experience in data protection management with relational databases and in big data Hadoop cloud environments.
- Organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Expert critical thinking skills.
- Ability to think outside the box and explore, develop, create, design innovative solutions.
