As a member of our FAA Enterprise Network Services (FENS) team, you will bring your passion, education and experience to this critical mission and interact directly with decision-makers and government staff who are tasked with ensuring the nation's air transportation system's underlying communications infrastructure is secure and always available. Your role within our Security Operations Center: Security Engineering
Functioning as the Senior Engineer/Subject Matter Expertise for the Security Operations Center supporting the FAA.
Acting as an escalation point for Tier2 to deal with any issue when required
Working with Design Engineer, Project Engineer and Project Manager on customer transition, implementation, or transformation projects.
Assessing vendor vulnerability reports against existing customer devices. Working with customers to implement mitigation activities if required.
Participating in audit and compliance assessments performed internally, by external vendors or by customer audit teams.
Assisting Tier2 engineers with or performing troubleshooting, configuration, replacement, updating or installation of enterprise security devices.
Attendancing incident calls, review and understanding of documented processes, ability to update process documents, provide peer-to-peer training and interaction with high level Verizon and customer managers.
Performing other duties as required.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience in network engineering
- IT, application development and supportand/or Cybersecurity
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- A degree.
- Ability to use JIRA and create Excell Gannt Charts to project manage work
- Ability to perform Powershell/python scripting.
- Security certification i.e. Security , CISSP, GIAC.
- Ability to use Cisco UCS.
- Experience in a system build and administration of Windows server 2016 -2019, Linux - RHEL/CENTOS 7/8/9 and Ubuntu.
- Experience in Networking/firewall troubleshooting connectivity.
- Experience in LDAP/ Active Directory.
- Experience in Load balancing (HAProxy, F5).
- Experience in Splunk.
- Experience in IT, application development and support, and Cybersecurity with highly scalable online transactional systems.
- Experience in .NET C# Development.
- Knowledge of MS SQL Server Database and T-SQL.
- Experience in Web Service Development.
- Experience in MVC 4/5 Development.
- Experience in RESTful Web API Development.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance requirement upon hire.
- Experience working with the FAA preferred.
