What you’ll be doing...
Identify areas of improvement in network engineering processes and tools, and collaborate with DevOps tool-chain framework team to architect automation solutions and investigate cutting edge technologies that will help bring value and elevate the lab certification process. Apply knowledge of telecommunications industry software development using Java, Python, C, Java Script, and C Sharp. Responsible for automation development using DevOps tools including Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GITLab, Jupyter Notebook, ROBOT Framework, and Ansible. Work with network provisioning and activation on devices including Cisco and Juniper Transport routers. Responsible for CLI commands and troubleshooting in Cisco, Ciena, Nokia and Juniper Transport routers. Work with telecom network elements across network routing layers 1, 2 and 3 in a communication stack. Participate in meetings with key stakeholders and drive automation with partnering organization. Lead projects and develop network automation using Python and integrate scripts for a full CI/CD execution. Act as subject matter expert on automation and help architect solutions using Cloud technology including VCP, AWS, and Virtualized Network Functions. Work with subject matter experts from peer organization to bring resolution to open issues in a timely fashion. Partner with application owners and vendors to ensure development standards as defined by Framework teams are met.
What we’re looking for...
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field followed by 5 years of progressive software development experience in the telecommunications industry using Java, Python, C, Java Script, and C Sharp. 5 years of experience in automation development using DevOps tools including Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GITLab, Jupyter Notebook, ROBOT Framework, and Ansible. 5 years of experience with network provisioning and activation on devices including Cisco and Juniper Transport routers. 5 years of experience with CLI commands and troubleshooting in Cisco, Ciena, Nokia and Juniper Transport routers. 5 years of experience in network routing layers 1, 2, and 3. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree followed by 5 years of progressive experience, the employer will accept a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the skillsets stated above. Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
