What you’ll be doing...
The primary purpose of the Global Solutions Principal (GSP) is to engage in long to medium-range client opportunity development activity in alignment with the Global integrated Solutions (GIS) target market. You will be responsible for the cultivation, development, and qualification of large-scale client transformation opportunities that directly contribute to the global GIS pipeline. You will follow a structured opportunity development framework and governance program to deliver consistent and predictable outcomes. This strategic leadership role will see you collaborating with clients, third-party organizations, and a broad range of internal Verizon stakeholders in order to co-create the large and transformational opportunities that are vital to our future growth strategy.
- Identify, explore and develop GIS client target market segmentation.
- Provide analysis and prioritization of suspect client opportunities based on market intelligence and trigger information.
- Assess market direction, potential, and postures for GIS targets.
- Direct client marketing strategies and campaign activities.
- Bring provocative and insightful thinking, and access to the company’s global network and portfolio to inspire and broaden/deepen client relationships.
- Mentor pre-sales teams in best practice GIS opportunity development.
- Direct long to medium-term client positioning strategy.
- Provide guidance and thought leadership to the client on how to solve business problems through integrated Verizon solutions (e.g. Customer Experience, Digital Workplace, Security, IoT, Network solutions).
- Work with the core account management teams to guide and execute funnel opportunities for complex customer business problems enabled by Verizon's strategic advanced solutions.
- Operate in a matrix structure and lead a team of deal experts, and solution architects and will work alongside core sales, adoption specialists, and customer service consultants.
- Preparation of structured handover of client opportunities to GIS pursuit teams.
- Coordination and development of business relationships with third-party sourcing and advisory consultants.
What we’re looking for...
This is primarily a customer-facing solution sales role, and will require the use of relationship management skills and a proven track record in developing trusted business relationships with decision-makers up to the boardroom/C level.
You'll need to have:
- A Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in transformational ICT solutions selling to multinational customers.
- Experience in strategy and business development.
- Experience handling large complex deals (typically over fifthymillion).
- Experience in dealing with and formally presenting to C-level customers.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 50% of the time.
Even better if you haveone or more of the following:
- Leadership experience, with a proven track record in managing large and geographically distributed teams.
- Highly developed interpersonal and client-facing skills.
- Successful track record in transformational ICT sales which have included software-defined networking, unified communications, managed network services, cloud services, and digital security.
- Highly developed strategic and financial analytical skills.
- Knowledge of business development lifecycles and associated best-practice methodologies.
