Applications and Systems Architect

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and development teams to understand system requirements and translate them into technical designs and specifications.
• Utilize best practices to design and plan complex, scalable and highly available applications and systems.
• Define and maintain a standardized technology stack, coding guidelines and software development lifecycle processes.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks and tools for new and existing systems.
• Ensure application and systems integration with existing infrastructure and third-party systems.
• Perform code reviews, architectural reviews and design pattern reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance to teams, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in the development of technical roadmaps and technology strategy planning.
• Monitor and recommend improvements to system performance, security, reliability and maintainability. 

POSITION SKILLS/ ABILITIES

• Extensive knowledge of software design patterns, such as microservices, event-driven architecture and domain-driven design.
• Strong understanding of database design, data modeling and data integration techniques. 
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, DevOps practices and continuous integration/ continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in software architecture and system design.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and familiarity with various technology stacks.
  
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and containerization technologies.
