Job Title: Athletic Trainer

Reports To: Director of Health Services

Job Summary:

Vermont Academy seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide athletic healthcare services for all student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer will join a highly skilled team of health professionals to assist in the following areas: prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation & reconditioning, organization & administration, and professional responsibility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee athletic injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation
• Provide coverage for athletic contests, practice sessions, and Athletic Training room as assigned
• Maintain accurate reports and records
• Manage return to learn and return to play concussion program
• Potential to serve as Head Athletic Trainer

Basic Qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred in a health-related field and 3-4 years of experience in an athletic training setting is preferred.
• The candidate will hold a current NATA BOC certification; have a Vermont State Athletic Training License or be license-eligible
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
• Working knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to Athletic Training
• Excellent knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
• Communicate effectively, timely, and thoroughly with athletes, parents, and coaches
• Positive attitude and interest in being a part of a boarding school community
