A permanent full-time opening exists for an Administrative Coordinator with the Court Administrator’s Office in Burlington, Vermont.  The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for providing complex administrative work assisting those responsible for attorney regulations for Vermont. The Coordinator may also provide support to outside members of one or more programs, boards or committees that the Court Administrator's Office is responsible for, such as Professional Responsibility Board, and Board of Bar Examiners. Work is performed under the supervision of an administrative superior, but with need for significant interaction with other division or department staff, and outside parties. The work is assistive in nature and focuses on extending the capabilities of professional or managerial positions such as attorneys.

This is a full-time, permanent opening in Burlington, Vermont. Starting salary is $23.55 per hour. The Administrative Coordinator is a non-exempt Judicial Branch position equivalent to pay grade 22.  Minimum Requirements for Administrative Coordinator:

Bachelor's degree and two years’ experience providing complex administrative-level support;

OR

Associate's degree and four years’ experience providing complex administrative-level support.

Summary of Duties for Administrative Coordinator:

  • Personally plans and executes the administrative activities of a department or program. 
  • Installs and develops administrative procedures customized to the needs of the department and programs and groups supported.
  • Reviews office operating procedures and policies, recommends improvements where appropriate.
  • May personally perform office management, forms design and reproduction, process invoices, purchasing, and other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares various statistical, financial and special reports.
  • Where applicable, performs complex and professional tasks such as liaison with data processing staff, confidential investigations, licensing procedures and operations manuals, and others.
  • Will serve as point of contact for outside entities when interpreting and applying policies, rules and regulations of considerable complexity in a diplomatic way.
  • Collaborates with division and department leadership on large-scale initiatives as needed.
  • This position is responsible for all duties defined and other duties as assigned such as training other employees.
  • The job entails the operation of various types of electronic equipment and new equipment may be introduced at any time.

Duties are performed in both an office and field setting. High stress situations are predictable. Potential of physical injury is present. Attendance at a variety of meetings can be expected and may occur outside of regular hours. Potential for travel to other locations.

Occasional travel to other courts within the State of Vermont may be required and a private means of transportation is necessary. Travel will be reimbursed according to State policies. This position will be eligible for longevity increases in accordance with the State step pay plan and annual cost of living increases as enacted by the Vermont State Legislature. Job Code # 23027
