What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Vero Networks?
Vero is currently seeking a candidate for a full-time Financial Analyst role. This position will report to the CFO and is responsible for assisting the Finance department in financial operations, data gathering, reporting and analytics. This position will also take a proactive role to partner with all departments on business process improvements to positively impact financial results.
Vero was formed to fill a need in unserved and underserved communities where access to affordable, reliable broadband simply does not exist. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to implement Microsoft Dynamics as system of record for financial reporting and enterprise resource planning
- Lead implementation of Power BI to design and develop dashboards and analysis to drive performance and support key decision making of executive team
- Analyze a wide variety and quantity of data to identify opportunities to improve business operations, including comprehensive revenue analytics by customer type, product type, market, etc.
- Drive follow-through tasks for cross-functional process improvement initiatives identified through analysis and review of results
- Develop financial models to provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs, improve financial performance, and increase return on investment
- Partner with Accounting team to review monthly and quarterly financial statement packages including variance analysis vs. expectations
- Participate in financial planning including budgeting, forecasting, weekly and monthly cash forecasting, and long-term planning
- Work with Business Development team on new market assessment and financial models that drive Board approval for investment and growth
- Manage capital management cost analysis process, reviewing actual spend compared to Board approved budgets for new market buildouts and presenting results to COO
- Coordinate with Operations and Technical Project Manager on reporting and process changes identified through capital management cost analysis
- Assist CFO in merger and acquisition activity including due diligence analysis and integration of financial operations post-close
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance
- 4 years of experience in financial analysis and/or business operations analysis role
- Advanced excel skills and experience developing dashboards
- Self-motivator with “entrepreneurial” mindset and ability to excel in an autonomous environment
- Critical thinker who is passionate about accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong sense of professionalism, including a strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to manage numerous tasks with tight deadlines to multiple stakeholders
- Team player with strength in communication, interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
- Telecommunications industry experience a plus
- Experience with Power BI a plus
