Job Summary:

As a Master Industrial Technician, you would be in a leadership role and work with management to coordinate and carryout the daily operations of maintenance for the processing facility Can perform the job with little or no supervision. Must be knowledgeable in all areas of the processing facility and equipment type. Will help coordinate capital projects, facility maintenance, preventive maintenance and associated programs, new installations or upgrades to the machines and supporting equipment.

You will work directly on site, or across multiple sites, to ensure timely and effective production is maintained. Uses expertise to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical, electrical, and conveying systems/types of industrial equipment. Is professional and works well with others in a team atmosphere. The Master Industrial Technician position will also provide leadership, technical guidance, and support to the other onsite maintenance technicians. Including mentoring, training, and development. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively. This position supports the daily achievement of production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our machines.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Under minimal or no supervision, repair and use expertise to perform high level maintenance on industrial machinery (i.e., automation, mechanical, electrical, conveying systems, etc.) using manufactures recommendations, blueprints schematics, and company SOPs to ensure equipment is performing safely and to required specifications

2. Identify root cause of all mechanical and electrical issues and performs repairs that may include welding, fabricating parts, plumbing, electrical, or replacing defective components. Works with appropriate personnel and management if further attention is required to resolve the issue

3. Diagnose and conduct overall conveyor maintenance on schedule as required

4. Troubleshooting and replace or repair drive chains, gears, belts, pullies, shafts, rollers, electric motors, and gear boxes

5. Coordinating, sustain, improve, and develop new Preventative Maintenance plans on all processing equipment

6. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, PLC, Software, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures

7. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components

8. Uses test equipment to diagnose system controls, software issues, malfunctioning machine systems, apparatus, and components

9. Analyze, report, document, and communicate maintenance issues to the maintenance manager

10. Responsible for maintaining adequate tools/supplies for necessary repairs and maintenance. Initiates purchase order for parts and supplies

11. Responsible for maintaining tools, keeping them clean and in good working condition. Keep work area organized, clean and free to move in

12. Assist other technicians in the performance of maintenance activities and/or providing training/guidance

13. Participate in and promotes our safety culture by following safe work practices

14. Identify unsafe conditions and corrects. Work with management to resolve safety concerns

15. When working in processing follows all compliance, food safety, and biosecurity rules, policies, and procedures. Reports any violations to a supervisor. Be familiar with USDA regulations

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred

2. Prefer an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in industrial maintenance or related field

Ø or 2-year additional trade or technical school education for maintenance, mechanical, welding, HVAC, or electrical

Ø or a minimum of 5 years of experience in similar role

3. Previous leadership experience required

4. Maintenance experience in the food, poultry or agriculture industry not required but is a plus

5. Strong skills; with diagnostics, advanced electronic, electrical, Ladder Logic, electrical testing devices, PLC, programing, software, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

6. Reading and comprehension skills necessary to read, understand and follow blueprints schematics, drawings, SOP’s and other written instructions or work details

7. Strong time management, operational and analytical skills

8. Strong problem solving, project management and planning skills

9. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and management

10. Able to work effectively with outside contractors and other contacts when necessary

11. Strong work ethic, honesty, team oriented and moral character

12. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must

13. Experience with safety/equipment such as LOTO, harnesses, lanyards, hoists, and PPE a plus

14. Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on the production demand

15. Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull 75 lbs

16. Expect walking, climbing (ladders and stairs), standing, and sitting for long periods of time, and able to work in tight spaces

17. Other duties as assigned
