Job Summary: *
Vertellus is currently seeking a Buyer to be located at one of our manufacturing facilities in the US. This role will report to the Sr Manager, Global Strategic Sourcing and will serve as the lead purchasing role supporting assigned projects. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of team management, purchasing strategy development and execution, effective negotiation skills, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Responsibilities:
Commodities and projects:

• Maximize the delivery of capex projects
• Acting as a project procurement partner supporting capex projects
• Introduce procurement in the earliest stage of capex projects to define the best contracting and procurement strategies taking into account the project triggers
• Accountable to define and execute contracting and procurement strategy of assigned capex projects
• Packages sourcing of capex projects according to sourcing strategies
• Accountable in contracting and in project execution (e.g. steering attendance, contract management, contractual changes, claim, contract close-out)
• Manage relationship with main contractors dedicated to capex projects and conduct regular business reviews to ensure requirements are met, employing supplier evaluation and continuous improvement management
• Promote innovation and ideas coming from supplier base to challenge internal position to reduce cost and timing
• Source: execute competitive selection and negotiation
• Implement: operational integration with suppliers, execute strategy
• Support various procurement activities of Indirect Procurement team like category strategies, RFPs

Qualifications/Desired Skills:
Education and Qualifications:

• Business or Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

Experience: *

• 5-8 years of experience, across multiple spend categories: Opex, Capex, or Indirect is a plus,
• Must have a good understanding of technical categories present within all capital projects: building services and process/biotech equipment, construction and technical contractors
• Project management of full end-to-end sourcing process on defined purchasing categories
• Ability to influence & adapt user behaviors in a changing/evolving environment
• Ability to leverage past experience and industry knowledge to continuously motivate change both inside & outside area of direct responsibilities
• Strong Synthesis and analytical skills, ability to extract key information from a complex set of data
• Result, value and performance-oriented with management/consultancy experience gained in a fast- moving, results-oriented business environment
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and matrix organization
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Ability to adjust to a fast-paced working environment handling multiple competing goals and objectives.
