Job Summary:
Duties include: monitor process and packaging, perform process samples, and follow all Safety and cGMP rules at the Midlothian Site. Responsible for ensuring all related SOPs and plant rules pertaining to cGMP, safety, and personal conduct are followed. Help maintain an effective Food Safety and Quality System and support its ongoing improvement, and be committed to producing quality, safe and legal products that meet or exceed our customer's specifications and comply with all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Run production during the scheduled shift, running process samples, offloading raw material, and follow all relevant SOPs
- Be able to cover for all Operator tasks and jobs
- Ensure cGMP procedures are followed
- Maintain good housekeeping standards
- Ensure product is produced, packaged, and stored correctly
- Advise the Supervisor to resolve day-to-day plant issues
- Advise the Supervisor to resolve reoccurring issues and equipment malfunctions
- Assist in maintenance activities in the production area
- Assist to document accurate batch document and control log sheets
- Performs additional duties as assigned/required

- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

- Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members

Qualifications/Desired Skills:
Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
- 1 - 3 years' experience in a Chemical manufacturing plant or related industry
- preferred
- Experience wearing required PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel toe shoes, gloves, and a respirator
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow operating and safety procedures
- Good problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and mathematical abilities
- Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical.)
- Employee must be able lift 55 pounds and move 250 lb. drums
- Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision
- Must be able to perform under the following conditions:
- Must be able to complete packaging, blending, and inspection logs neatly per SOP's
- Work in awkward or confining workspaces
- Work in elevated places
- Work in outdoor environment and adverse weather conditions at times
- Work in noisy environment
- Work in areas that are dusty and have some odor from chemicals
