V2X Aerospace Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN, supporting programs in next-generation avionics and weapon system integration to address our customer's needs for rapid capability integration that provide superior combat relevance and readiness across the airborne fleet via integrated sense, control, employment, and deployment solutions.
We develop innovative Weapon System Integration (WSI) solutions for the airborne warfighter to address current and emerging threat environments. Typical Duties
The Senior Systems Engineer provides program support throughout the development life cycle, from concept development, requirements definition, functional analysis, design review support, system implementation, integration, verification, and validation. The Senior Systems Engineer will work within a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT), where strong communication and team building skills are critical to success.
Required Skills:
- At least five years of related engineering experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
- Experience with development, integration and test of complex systems.
- Experience with requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.
- Experience with test execution including test plan and procedure development.
- Experience creating Trade Studies and analyzing technical data.
- Experience applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to solve problems.
- Experience providing leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-discipline teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong accountability with the ability to work autonomously to deliver high quality work products on-schedule.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with design, integration, and certification of hardware and software subsystems, transitioning products from development to production, and obsolescence management.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering methods, tools, and languages.
- Project management experience including cost, schedule, supplier management, risk, and opportunity assessment.
- Experience working with government customers including the US Army, US Navy, USMC and/or USAF.
- Experience with US Government airworthiness processes (ex. MIL-HDBK-516, EDRAP) and certification boards.
- Knowledge and experience working with Industry and Government Standards such as: DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-2088B, MIL-STD-8591, MIL-STD-1760, and Universal Armament Interface (UAI).
- Experience implementing performance requirements (i.e. -ilities) such as Reliability, Testability, Maintainability, Producibility, and System/Software Safety.
- Experience with Agile or DevOps software development.
- Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance
Education Requirements:
- BS in Engineering or related STEM discipline
