Job Posting for Senior Mechanical Engineer, Production Engineering at Vertex Brand
V2X Aerospace Solutions is seeking a mechanical engineer to support an exciting new program to upgrade weapons systems for the military aircraft. The candidate must be able to work with a large cross functional team to execute a hardware upgrade program. The candidate will be responsible for planning out the production process and troubleshooting any technical problems identified throughout the program.
Job responsibilities include:
Provide engineering support directly to the production floor to troubleshoot manufacturing problems.
Responsible for disposition of non-conforming products and developing rework processes as needed.
Provide technical support to suppliers.
Coordinate with a cross functional team of production support personnel, quality engineers and program managers to solve program problems.
Create manufacturing procedures for the shop floor and work with floor personnel to continuously improve the procedures.
Incorporate Change Notices, Variances, or red lined comments into CAD models and documentation
Use Creo 3D CAD software to design and document tooling and/or fixtures for Manufacturing operations.
Generate Change Notices or Variances to support design changes required to resolve issues encountered during the manufacture or repair of products
Integrate new technology into existing manufacturing process to reduce costs.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 6 years relevant engineering experience
Experience with 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred)
Experience writing manufacturing work instructions.
Experience in troubleshooting manufacturing problems on large assemblies that integrate a wide range of different components.
Experience working with a material review board to determine the disposition of non-conforming components.
Ability to manage multiple, unrelated tasks in an organized manner.
Experience with common industry and military specifications and standards
Basic MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong technical leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead the resolution of complex technical challenges
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5 standards)
Experience performing tolerance analyses on individual parts and assemblies
Manufacturing experience with defense-related products
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Must be a US Citizen with active US Government Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
Design experience with defense-related products
Knowledge of configuration management process
Experience with Windchill (product data management)
Knowledge of EVM (Earned Value)
Experience in developing and maintenance of Engineering Technical Data Packages (Raytheon Engineering Documentation Standards, IPDS)
Knowledge of the Production Release Process
Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) - SAP PRISM preferred
Experience generating Model Based Work Instructions
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering or similar field
