What are the responsibilities and job description for the Projects Safety Coordinator position at Vertiv Co.?
JOB SUMMARY & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Projects Safety Coordinator role will be responsible for supporting large projects. The focus of this role will be to develop, implement and maintain the safety program around project execution services. This role will also be the site safety coordinator when the project requires a dedicated safety person based on the size of the project. In addition, this role will be responsible for the subcontractor safety management program (pre-qualification, training records, auditing). They will also assist other lines of business in safety audits and site visits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Support and promote Vertiv’s safety culture on large projects
- Develop and maintain safety program for large projects
- Develop site specific safety plans for large projects
- Assist with subcontractor safety management program
- Collect and maintain training records for subcontractors
- Build and conduct site specific safety orientations and key trainings for specific work activities
- Provide OSHA 10/30 as needed
- Review and manage day to day safety documents on sites
- Maintain, drive and report on Vertiv’s Safety Walk and Talk (SWAT) and Good Catch Program
- Track and trend project safety performance
- Drive and investigate incidents/ near misses/ safety issues to closure including root cause and corrective actions
- Conduct safety audits on a regular basis
- Conduct subcontractor safety audits on a regular basis
- Assist with developing project Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA)
- Provide company specific user training for fall protection
- Compile a monthly safety report for Vertiv Leadership
- Provide recommendations for onsite safety improvements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications: (education, experience level, knowledge, skills, designations/certifications).
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years construction project experience
- OSHA 500 Authorized Trainer preferred
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations that impact the company, including: OSHA, NFPA, EPA State and local laws and ordinances preferred
- Fall Protection background preferred
- Ability to perform assigned tasks and complete work on schedule with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and aptitude for learning new applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
- Strong customer service skills and interpersonal skills
