What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst position at Vertiv?
Vertiv is hiring a Business Analyst in Columbus, OH (hybrid). Reporting to the Sr. Global Channel Operations, the Business Analyst will increase the bandwidth and velocity of the leader in such a way as to concentrate time, effort and priorities on strategic initiatives. This person will have the acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously managing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands on the operations.
Responsibilities
- Interface with site leaders to complete strategic planning initiatives, cost management tracking/initiatives, and project summaries.
- To provide analysis and decision making input on a full spectrum of project evaluations, operations performance data, operational, and financial metrics.
- Ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between the VP of Operation and other constituencies, both internal and external. They will act on the authority of the VP of Operations to track and oversee strategic projects. They will facilitate the process of project solicitation, selection, prioritization, implementation, and monitoring.
- Skills to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, quantitative analysis skills, the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization. This position is a key resource for the entire Operations Leadership team. This individual should have a desire to expand into a larger Operations role, or incorporate this role as a cross function assignment to gain insight into Vertiv Operations.
- Key liaison with the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance organization; confidence in gathering and organizing data (Excel)
- Coordinate across Strategic Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Global Business Units, Finance and HR for planning and analytics requirements
- Coordinate, consolidate and report important information multiple functions and locations
- Prepare internal and external presentations (PowerPoint), high proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Handle daily tasks for VP of OPs upon request (e.g. briefings, correspondence, attend meetings)
- Facilitate execution through professional communication and collaboration
- Prepare Executive and Advisory Council briefs on Operations topics. Participate in strategic Operations discussions
- Assist in development of OKR’s, Operations Strategy Initiatives, Operations Communications, and organization of Group Leadership Meetings
- Create and update dashboards to monitor the progress of critical initiatives
- Network with Executive Leadership and other associates to help advance Operational goals
Requirements and Education
- 5 years of Operations or Business Office experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical, Business, or Analytics field
- Effective professional communication skills; works with executive leaders and their representatives
- Capable of translating data into simplified stories, informing leaders of trends with concise explanations
- Understand basic Operations Finance concepts, able to interface with Financial organization
- Experience with Strategy development or execution
- Success in a fast-paced; transformational environment.
