Human Resources Manager
POSITION SUMMARY

Collaborate closely with aligned Executive Leadership Team member, their Leadership Team, and subteams to understand the team's business goals, challenges, and objectives and how they align with the overall business strategy. Align HR strategies to support and contribute to the attainment of these goals, thereby enhancing the overall success of the team. May have supervisory responsibilities over other Human Resources staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

* Act with integrity, professionalism, and the highest level of confidentiality.

* Act as the link between leaders and their subteams to the HR function (talent acquisition, operations, talent development).
* Foster strong relationships with business leaders to understand their functional objectives and challenges; collaborate with key stakeholders to develop HR strategies and programs aligned with the company's strategic objectives and which contribute to business decision-making processes.
* Serve as a strategic partner, partnering directly with functional/team leads to help integrate HR programs within the organization.
* Coach leaders and employees regarding development, talent processes, employee relations, and team effectiveness.
* Assist with change management related to people movement and organizational design.
* Help determine capability and resourcing needs related to workforce planning.
* Review compensation of supported job families and roles.
* Assist in promoting organizational culture and employee experience to enhance employee engagement and growth.
* Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring timelines and milestones are met and functional team members are trained to deliver and support their business units; coordinate cross-functional teams, providing leadership and direction to achieve program objectives; utilize HR analytics to assess the effectiveness of the program/initiative.
* Drive technology-enabled process innovation and automation initiatives surrounding HR processes and controls, leveraging digital tools and capabilities to optimize HR operations.
* Support day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, Human Capital Management system recordkeeping and data integrity, conducting and/or participating in audits, administration of leave programs, affirmative action program and related compliance requirements and initiatives.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, providing guidance to management and employees, ensuring compliance and reducing legal risks.
* Provide guidance, interpretation, and recommendations for best practices to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and the organization as a whole.
* Participate in developing department goals, objectives and programs including metrics, queries, and standard reports, and assist in evaluating the department's performance.
* Maintain and increase professional knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources and employment law by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
* Support compliance with the company quality standards, FDA regulations and guidance, applicable EU Medical Device directives, applicable ISO standards, and other pertinent country specific medical regulatory requirements.
* Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or relevant field.
* A minimum of eight years' progressive HR experience with a minimum of three years' experience in a senior HR Business Partner role.
* Experience implementing the full employee life-cycle processes and procedures.
* Experience in HR program management.
* Expert knowledge of relevant California and federal labor legislation and regulatory compliance.
* Advanced proficiency in a broad range of human resources areas including current HR issues, DEIB principles, and HR trends and best practices.

Bonus

* PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.
* Experience working with multi-state organizations and distributed workforces.
* Experience with DEIB initiatives.
* Experience working with Affirmative Action Plans and understanding of OFCCP compliance.
* Experience in a fast-paced and growing startup/small company environment.
* Experience working in heavily regulated industry such as medical device, pharmaceutical, or aerospace.

* Advanced skills and reporting in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel; proficiency with HCM/HRIS systems; comfortable learning and passionate about new technology as needed such as Box, Zoom, Slack, Smartsheet, Concur and more.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

* Travel (Distributed Workforce) - Approximately 10% of time will be spent traveling for team meetings, conferences, or meetings, including overnight.
* Physical Demand - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. Physical effort required by handling objects of 25 pounds or more occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel and operating a personal computer. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Pay Range: $119,000 - $168,000 per year
