What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Quality Manager position at Vestas?
The Senior Manager of Quality plans, coordinates, and directs quality program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards. Oversee the interface between Service, Construction and Technology to ensure best turbine erection, maintenance and improvements in safety, down cycle time, lost production and cost reduction.
Responsibilities:
- Provide approval/input of safety alerts, safety procedures and communications to site related activities for Construction and Service
- Coordinate strategic short- and long-term goals with Service, Engineering and Operations
- Provide feedback to Senior Management on KPI's and Projects
- Formulate and maintain quality standards complementary to corporate policies and goals
- Secure that quality principles are well implemented at plant
- Interpret quality philosophy to key personnel in organization
- Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation
- Plan and oversee the analysis, inspection, test, and integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component
- Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
- Responsible for incoming products and materials meeting Vestas quality specifications and test for specifications
- Review all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
- Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities
- Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation
- Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards
- Play essential role on quality management teams within organization
- Design and implement quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers
- Investigate and ensure corrective actions on customer complaints regarding quality
- All other functions as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 5 years' experience with quality management and people management responsibilities
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Demonstrated effective interaction with Sr. Management for communication of quality issues
- Comprehensive understanding of standard processes of customer service with experience implementing internal processes to improve efficiency
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, knowledge of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft programs
- Intermediate skills with MRP, Quality & Supply Chain Systems
- Flexibility with travel based on overall company strategy and availability for communication in any time zone may be necessary
Competencies:
- Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
- Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner
- Ability to effectively coordinate a team
- Will be required to see and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions
- Will be required to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the task
- Ability to work in each production environment without restrictions
- Regular and reliable attendance

The pay range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000
