Skilled Worker / Semi-Skilled Worker|Full-Time|Field Operations
Tech I in US, Marshall KS
The Technician I will perform basic level wind turbine service and/or installation tasks including introductory operation and use of tools and basic turbine equipment per Vestas safety requirements
Responsibilities:
- Act as a safety conscious team member. Be aware of your task, risk and mitigation methods. Ask questions when unsure and stop work when warranted
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities to job related processes and procedures. Communicate through appropriate channels
- Responsible to take advantage of the tools available to continue to grow and learn as an employee with team support
- Effectively contribute to a strong team environment by assisting teammates to accomplish mutual goals while supporting and promoting team spirit and cooperation

- Demonstrate proper use of PPE, work procedures and other defined protocol
- Closely adhere to all safety alerts and procedures
- Complete all safety training assigned
- Utilize all PPE as required by Work Instructions and HSE manual
- Understand and support the site continuous improvement plan
- Interface with customer at a minimal level. Respond to basic customer inquiries, referring most to higher level technical staff or manager (demonstrate strong customer focus at all times)
- Awareness of how dashboard impacts the site (i.e. alarms, warnings, fleet, service orders, labor efficiency, new site start up, TNT, FIFT, other Insight dashboard metrics)
- Ability to locate and understand relevance of Insight Toolbox
- TBC is required to be at level 100
- Be a member of a team and follow direction of senior Technicians
- Ability to access and have basic understanding of Work Instructions
- Data collection for CIR input
Essential Functions:
- Ability to constantly climb stairs and ladders 60-125 meters in height, in order to access work area
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, look up/down, balance, stoop, twist, kneel, and bend
- Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions
- Comfort working remotely in a Turbine as part of a team with limited supervisory interaction
- your total weight, while wearing all required PPE and gear, must be at or less than the 300.0 lbs. weight limit
- Regular & reliable attendance
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to follow directions with added input
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) years' experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and/or composite skills preferred (would be preferred but not required as a TOP's Tech)
- Able to achieve TBC task levels 100 -200 in order to become Vestas tech II within 9 months
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to obtain a passport preferred
- Requires travel and may require working a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business objectives
- Strong attention to detail & ability to follow directions with precise execution
- Good interpersonal & professional behavior
- Ability to read, interpret & understand basic drawings & schematics a plus
