Veterans Inc., the largest provider of services to veterans and their families throughout New England, is looking for a professional, highly motivated, goal-oriented individual to fill the Activities Coordinator position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team!
Veterans Inc. is looking for an Activities Coordinator to join our team and work within our CSS Program in Shrewsbury, MA. Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, this role will be responsible for various program and administrative tasks, including creating and implementing new and ongoing activities and assisting the Program Manager and other staff as directed.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:
- Identifies, plans, coordinates, and implements all ongoing regular and new monthly activities for recreational, educational, cultural growth, and self-enrichment.
- Coordinates activities with area community members including - musical entertainers, speakers on various educational programs, exercise programs, arts and crafts programs, etc.
- Researches anticipated costs for any programs, activities, services, or materials and implements plans within the approved budget.
- Maintains class schedules, monitors, and ensures appropriate instructional supplies are available.
- Updates activity programs on all forms of communications.
- Coordinates room set-ups and break-downs, or equipment needs for programs.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Requires an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) in human services, social work, or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in general clerical, secretarial, or administrative work
- Three (3) years of experience in working within an alcohol and drug treatment program
- Requires good computer literacy in office software: word, excel, publisher.
- Must have a patient and positive disposition, demonstrate flexibility, work independently and possess an ability to multitask.
- Must protect the privacy of our participants and hold personal information in strict confidence.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Available to work nights and weekends when needed with certain activities.
- Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
- Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.
