With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England, is seeking to fill the Development Coordinator position.
Under the general direction of the Donor Strategy Manager, the Development Coordinator is a key member of the Development team and is responsible for the donor database and acknowledgment of all donations, individual giving strategies, and overall development and event support. This position is onsite within the Development Office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:
- Donor Database Management.
- Develop strategies to ensure proper acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship of donors.
- Facilitate acknowledgment functions.
- Responsible for ensuring all donor records are up to date.
- Assist in implementing Individual Giving strategies and the Annual Giving campaign.
- Track giving and produce reports as needed.
- Assist with communicating and managing external donor fundraisers, drives, etc.
- Assist with event/sponsorship/foundation donation management.
- Assist with grant-seeking strategies and calendar of planned grants to support new projects and ongoing initiatives.
- Assist with research, preparing, and managing unrestricted grants through the application and reporting process; develop timelines and tracking systems as necessary.
- Assist in maintaining and expanding relationships with donors, foundations, and other grant-makers.
- Assist with annual fundraising events.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- Two (2) to four (4) years experience in donor relations, non-profit operations, writing and/or filing applications (manual and electronic), evaluation, project management, reporting, and public outreach/relations preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills with strong grammar, creative writing, proofreading, and word processing skills required.
- Must be able to confidently and successfully manage competing deadlines and prioritize to accomplish tasks.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional project management skills (prioritizing, timeline, budget, procedure, reporting, and evaluation) required.
- This position requires some travel, so reliable transportation, and a valid driver's license are required.
- Must be able to pass a CORI/Background records successfully check.
