What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Veterinarian position at Veterinary Wellness Center?
Veterinary Wellness Center is a full-service, small animal general practice that was opened in 2016 and expanded in 2021. This clinic is privately owned by Dr. Whitney Keller (she/her), a 2012 grad who is slightly awkward, super nerdy, and innovation driven. Our core values are Wellness, Education, Compassion, Adaptability, Relationship, and Experience; WE CARE, we really do!
We have a mentorship program in place for new veterinarians, with partnership opportunities for those who are interested. Our workflow is technology-driven with highly leveraged support staff and greater than 6:1 support staff-to-doctor ratio. Low stress handling is required, and our practice is working towards Fear Free certification. We offer a flexible workweek, with no emergency on-call.
The clinic is 3,400 square feet with 6 exam rooms, a two-table surgery suite, a dedicated dental space, digital full-body and dental radiographs, and in-house lab machines. If you have an interest in an area we are not currently offering, we would love to support you in training and implementing new services.
The full-time compensation package starts at $95,000 plus full benefits and relocation assistance. With experience and delegation, a veterinarian can generate a salary of $140,000 in a true 40-hour workweek.
For staff members, we are developing a distributive leadership program with opportunities for self-advancement. Our goal is to have each staff member earning at least $15/hour by the end of 2022, with the opportunity to earn $20-25/hour based on increasing responsibilities and specialization. We actively solicit and respond to feedback from our amazing staff members.
At Veterinary Wellness Center we are changing the status quo to provide true Wellness for staff and patients, and are looking for 1-2 veterinarians that are excited to join us on this journey.
