Position Profile:
The Project Manager (PM) is accountable for managing business projects and ensuring they get completed within budget and time. They are also responsible for confirming that everyone on the team complies with the company’s standards regarding the execution and development of each project. A successful PM must exhibit excellent communication and leadership abilities even under stress and must be extremely well-organized. The PM will be responsible for coordinating with other project team members from multiple departments to design and execute projects and to report plans and progress to top management. The PM will establish the PM within Vets Plus and will perform the role of Project Manager for numerous projects as assigned by the CEO. Projects will include the custom development of animal supplement products for customers, technical transfer of production of animal supplements and pharmaceuticals, construction and/or installation of new production suites and equipment, and other projects as assigned by the CEO.
Work Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal departments, customers, and vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the Project Leader, internal client, and relevant stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize potential risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers and third parties/vendors as necessary.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Meet with internal clients to take detailed briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
- Meet budgetary objectives and make recommendations for adjustments to project constraints based on analysis.
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with internal clients as well as other staff members.
- Use and continually develop leadership skills.
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document progress and resource needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in administration, business, engineering, or a similar field is required.
- Experience: a minimum of three years’ experience in project management.
- Experience: a minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or drug manufacturing.
Computer and Software
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Project.
- Experience with enterprise planning software platforms (ERP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certificate
- Experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment
Travel Requirements: less than 5%
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
- General office environment: works generally at a desk in a well-lit, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, viewing computer monitor and using the telephone on a regular basis; some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move items weighing 10 – 15 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to working near moving mechanical parts and areas where equipment is operating.
- Occasional exposure to dusty and fragrant conditions, varying temperature levels, and high-noise environments is possible.
- Periods of stress may occur. The position requires extended work hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
