The Veterinary Receptionist Lead's primary duty is interacting with clients and coordinating communication between doctors, assistants, and the clients and assisting in the organization/leadership of the front office staff. Receptionists must possess good critical thinking and problem solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, follow-through, and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Multitasking and accepting constructive criticism is essential. Punctuality is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – General
Provide top-notch customer service.
Being attentive to client and pet needs.
Identify and work compassionately with clients in various emotional states.
Work patiently with distressed, frustrated, and or disgruntled clients.
Answer and triage phone calls from clients.
Schedule appointments and procedures.
Check-in clients and patients.
Set-up and manage client charts and import patient records into Cornerstone.
Request medical records and import records and radiographs into appropriate PMS systems.
Monitor client flow from check-in to discharge.
Monitor schedule and flow and work with the doctor’s assistants to keep them well informed of client/patient status.
Client callbacks. Function as medical liaison between client and doctor to facilitate relay of information in a timely manner.
Managing record requests between VetSurg and other veterinary facilities.
Fill prescriptions (or calling in medications to outside pharmacies) and supplies to send home.
Assist in cleaning the hospital including but not limited to: keeping reception desk area and lobby clean and sanitary, taking out the trash and recycling, laundry, cleaning floors, bathrooms, exam rooms, kitchen, and kennels if needed.
Process payment transactions, deposits, care credit, and end of day reporting.
Maintain proper documentation in the electronic medical record.
Relay appropriate information to/from clients to doctors and/or management.
Maintain cash drawer balance. Ensure appropriate cash is in drawer at all times.
Maintain email communication with clients and rDVMs
Facilitate operation of telephone system: transferring calls, etc.
Facilitate operation of the work cell phone system, including documentation of text messages into the Cornerstone system.
Assist technical staff with patient care: suture removal, bandage removal, outpatient procedures, venipuncture, radiograph positioning, catheter placement, restraint, and other treatments as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
At least two (2) to three (3) years of customers service job-related experience in the veterinary industry
Must be able to safely lift 30 pounds.
Basic math and writing skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
