ABOUT THE POSITION
Project Controls Manager | Hybrid | New York, NY | Newark, NJ
VHB is seeking a Project Controls Manager to join our dynamic growing Transportation practice in the Northeast. This position provides an opportunity to work on complex transportation and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee cost control, progress reporting, subconsultant contracting and administration, contract compliance
- Monitor project expenditures and measure cost performance against budget using earned value management
- Prepare subconsultant budgets and contracts, reporting, engage in planning, scheduling, quality control, and coordination
- Keep tasks performed on-time and within budget, while managing relationships
- Ensure quality reviews and keeping tasks on-time
- Manage and resolve any contract issues in a timely manner with subconsultants and client as appropriate
- Reviews plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements
Skills and Attributes
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Experience in procedure and design of transportation projects preferred
- Experience in preparing reports and scheduling
- Experience in establishing project control procedures
- Ability to review, coordinate and provide guidance on technical management
- Strong knowledge of project controls, budgetary control systems and scheduling
- Knowledge transportation administration regulations and policies
- Strong communication, technical and critical thinking skills
- Detail oriented and quality focused
- Strong project/task management skills
- Motivated to lead and mentor others
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Qualifications
- 8-11 years of experience required in project controls and contract compliance, 5 years in transportation related projects
- 11-15 years’ experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or related field of study
- PE license preferred
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $100,000-160,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
