Responsibilities
- Work within a team of professionals to develop traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
- Conduct traffic impact studies, road safety assessments, transportation planning and scoping analysis
- Collect and tabulate traffic and safety data
- Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
- Develop intersection designs, including the design of traffic control devices, and multimodal facilities
Skills and Attributes
- Working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in civil engineering.
- Knowledge of local and state regulations governing site design.
- Skilled in industry-standard engineering design and analysis systems (e.g., CAD, GIS, stormwater
- hydrology and hydraulics, traffic simulation).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and
- collaborate effectively and positively with coworkers.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of engineering experience
- BS in Civil Engineering (a master’s degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience)
- Engineer in Training certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with traffic capacity analysis software (Synchro, HCS) preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD required and GIS experience a plus
