We are seeking am experienced People & Culture Coordinator to support the daily functions and initiatives of the HR Department that attract, develop, and support the recruitment-to-retirement employment lifecycle to retain an engaged, high performing diverse staff while promoting the culture and initiatives of Via Credit Union. The scheduled work hours are Tuesday - Saturday (noon), unless otherwise specified.

Essential Functions:
- Provides dedicated and effective HR service to applicants and employees with employment-related inquiries referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Chief People Officer.
- Participates in the development of HR objectives and systems to support the mission and vision of Via Credit Union.
- Suggests new procedures and policies for improving employee experience and the efficiency of ViaCU and the HR department.
- Performs tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Supports talent management recruitment efforts:
- Collaborates with department supervisors to ensure job duties, skills, and competencies are up to date for vacancies.
- Collaborates with HR department staff to develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Posts vacancies, reviews applications, coordinates interviews, distributes invitations, etc.
- Submits background checks to third party vendor.
- Attends and represents ViaCU at job fairs.
- Responsible for NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System) Licensure Tracking
- Serves as the NMLS Administrator
- Responsible for annual renewals
- Ensures NMLS system is up to date with required NMLS employees.
- Responsible for registering new employees on NMLS required positions.
- Learning and Development Training Programs:
- Conducts new employee onboarding and orientation.
- Collaborates with HR department staff to develop and conduct training courses.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory training.
- Conducts and/or coordinates staff product/service training
- Conducts staff financial education with Money Edu.
- ScreenSteps Find & Follow (KnowledgeBase) Coordinator and Trainer
- Promote and monitor employee morale and company culture.
- Manage staff candy kudos program
- Responsible for coordinating corporate functions and events:
- Staff appreciation/recognition events
- Staff/branch cookouts
- Staff activities committee
- Employee Appreciation
- Staff team building activities-(i.e. pumpkin decorating)
- Staff retirement planning
- Responsible for staff apparel orders and distribution.
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Conduct branch tours for new employees.
- Travel to branches as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. An equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience may be considered.
- At least 3-5 years experience in human resource management.
- Working knowledge of general HR practices, relevant labor laws, and regulations.
- Proven track record in HR leadership, developing training programs, issue resolution, and motivating teams.
- Positive, professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Familiarity with HR technologies and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to balance conflicting points of view, function effectively under pressure and demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness.
- Must be able to pass a post-offer background check and credit report.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Must have a valid driver's license, be insurable, and have reliable transportation
- HRM, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification a plus
