Line Leader 3

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: Working under the direction of the Production Supervisor, this position assists the Supervisor in ensuring the safe and effective operation of the clean room.   This individual is responsible for getting the shift efficiently up and running, ensuring a seamless shift change, and monitors the production area to ensure that materials are readily available, work orders are opened and closed correctly, and that production goals are met.     MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices and SOP’s as defined by Viant’s policies, practices and procedures to insure that FDA regulations, GMP, ISO13485, MDD and Viant quality standards are met Promotes a safe and healthy work environment Ensures that all production personnel are following appropriate gowning procedures, specifications, and working in a safe manner Leads daily stretching exercises Quickly reports unsafe work conditions to the Supervisor Ensures that the production personnel follow 6-S and keep the work areas neat and clean Monitors the production area for takt achievement, scrap levels, and any production quality or variance issues Promptly reports any areas of concern or personnel issues to the Supervisor  Records results as required using excel and/or other systems as identified Prioritizes the production schedule for the clean room Release work orders in QAD and creates job folders Ensures that work orders are opened and closed correctly, making sure that all documentation is correct within the folder Acts as the Value Stream liaison for production personnel to communicate important information to team members Trains new employees Assists with material handling as required Supports customer audits as required Other responsibilities as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge/Education: High school or equivalent Understanding of Lean Principles Knowledge of QAD system Proficient in Microsoft Excel Job Experience: 3-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred 1 year Viant Medical assembly experience preferred, but not required Skills/Competencies: Strong communication skills Organized and able to manage priorities Ability to manage confidential information Physical Requirements: Excellent Vision Bend/Stoop/Kneel – multiple times throughout the day Lift/Carry 10-25lb – multiple times throughout the day Stand/Sit/Walk – up to 6 hours per day Must be able to work overtime as requiredMust be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including Protective eyewearEar plugsHair netProtective gowning (lab coat, hood, shoe covers)
