Position Summary
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Asssistant Director of Nursing (ADON), is a Registered Nurse (RN) who is responsible for the day to day nursing operations for the nursing department and ensures the delivery of efficient, high quality patient care and services 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the LTACH. The ADON works with the hospital employees and other managers/supervisors to develop systems and procedures necessary for daily operations, and provides training, information and support to solve problems and accomplish assigned objectives. The Assistant Director of Nursing supervises all Nursing staff including but not limited to Nurse Supervisor, RN, LPN/LVN, CNA, Unit Secretaries and Telemetry Monitor Technicians
Position Qualifications- Three years experience in an acute care setting preferred hospital or LTAC.
- Critical care management experience preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management, workflow planning and staff development.
- Ability to manage the practice of nursing within the mission of the hospital. Demonstrated ability to participate in recruitment and hire of qualified staff. Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
- Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts required. Current BLS and ACLS certifications from a Vibra-approved vendor required.

- Develops and maintains patient care standards through monitoring compliance to patient care standards through observations, communication and quality assurance activities
- Participates in and is accountable for the appraisal, development, presentation, and enforcement of policies and standards relating to nursing staff and nursing care provided at the facility
- Assesses care delivery for compliance to established standards and prescribes resolution of problems in patient care in a timely manner
- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care delivery in meeting patient’s needs and takes action to improve care.
- Counsels and monitors staff performance as needed
- Improves the quality of services of the staff and implements methods that increase their efficiency and productivity.

Salary : $76,000 - $101,000
