Who we are

We're Vibrant Coffeehouse & Kitchen, and we have some strong opinions about coffee (and kitchens). First: We make an amazing cup of coffee because we roast the beans ourselves. Second: While we’ve certainly waited in line for 45 minutes to get an amazing cup of coffee (or an energy drink), we like it better when we don’t have to. Third: We’ll put 20 packets of Splenda in a guest’s tea if they really want it, but we’re happy to make other recommendations when asked. Fourth: Biscuits and gravy look terrible on Instagram, but they sure taste good.

Who you are

You love coffee shops so much that you almost feel guilty for getting paid to spend time in one. (Stop feeling guilty, you’re totally worth it!) You are ready to defend your stances on flavored syrups, whether a taco is a sandwich, and which type of milk produces the best froth. And you’re looking for a flexible schedule because you have school, family obligations, another job, or a bad habit of falling down Wikipedia rabbit holes.

What you’ll do at the Coffeehouse

• Greet guests and make them immediately feel welcome
• Answer questions about menu items, make suggestions, describe specials and featured items, and take orders
• Prepare drink and food items accurately following recipes and/or guest requests
• Prepare hot and cold meat and vegetable dishes, salads, sandwiches, bakery items, and/or other similar food items
• Stock all ingredients, condiments, supplies, etc.
• Operate cooking or bakery equipment as assigned
• Ensure customer service stations are well-stocked, organized, and clean
• Ensure all checklist items for opening, closing, and beginning/ending of shift are completed as assigned
• Perform cleaning duties, including washing dishes, emptying and taking out trash, mopping floors, wiping down tables
• Ensure all food and beverage prep areas and customer seating areas are kept clean and organized
• Upsell merchandise and process transactions
• Stock and tidy up merchandise area and inventory, order, or receive products as directed
• Respond to and resolve any guest complaints in a professional manner and escalate to the manager or supervisor on duty if necessary
• In some cases, produce social media content in coordination with the marketing team
• In some cases, provide guidance and training to other employees in similar roles
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations

To be successful in this position, an individual must be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, personable, and tactful. This individual should also successfully pass food handlers certification within their first 2 weeks. They must understand all Vibrant products and services.
