Vicarious Surgical is hiring a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA. This is an incredible and rare opportunity to help build development infrastructure nearly from the ground up at a medical device company with a breakthrough surgical robot, and to get involved in the intersection of robotics and AI. In this exciting role, you will help set up and manage our local and remote servers, which run critical services that are crucial to the team’s success, you will work closely with the robotic software, firmware, VR and AI developers, and you will identify software needs and issues experienced by our multidisciplinary team.
Vicarious Surgical’s novel approach to surgery uses a combination of proprietary, human-like surgical robots and virtual reality to transport surgeons inside the patient when performing minimally invasive surgery. Our technology was granted Breakthrough Device Designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which provides unique opportunities for our regulatory pathway.

Responsibilities
- Maintaining build system, documentation system, code repositories, and more
- Applying feedback from developers to change or create new services
- Improving the workflow of non-developers using software tools
- Coordinating and executing our software build and release schedule
- Keeping up to date with best practices and security concerns
About You
- 3-5 years of DevOps experience, or System Admin and coding experience
- Proficiency with CI/CD infrastructure (e.g., Jenkins, Buildbot, CircleCI)
- Experience working under Linux environments (Ubuntu, Debian)
- Experience with version control software (Git, GitHub)
- Experience in testing cloud infrastructure (AWS) and CDNs
- Strong scripting and debugging skills using shell scripts, Python, and JavaScript
