Vidya Herbs offers a wide variety of botanical-derived ingredients for applications such as dietary supplements, functional foods, and personal care products.

The company has multiple manufacturing units in India, with those for extraction being based in Bangalore, India while a coffee processing plant has also been established in Chikmagalur, India. Additional manufacturing facilities are located in Japan, France, and the United States.

Job Overview

Individual is responsible for all aspects of quality control in the Laboratory. As well as maintaining laboratory methods for testing and examination. Individual is required to follow cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and all applicable Standard Operating Procedures, and Food Safety Regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Evaluates the chemical, physical or organoleptic properties of various Herbal Materials such as active extracts and in-active raw materials to verify the compliance with the established specifications.
  • Relies on verbal and written instructions and pre-established guidelines to prepare and maintain reports based on scientific deductions. Validates analytical test methods, critically evaluates, and audits data, writes technical analytical reports and procedures.
  • A Bench Chemist must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should possess a professional demeanor.
  • Test raw materials, in-process product and finished product to ensure compliance with FDA and cGMP requirements according to approved written procedures and specifications.
  • Responsible for maintaining lab reports through accurate input, database generation, and manipulation; interpret the data and report immediately any testing that is out of specifications.
  • Maintain laboratory methods for testing and examination.
  • Select and use appropriate scientifically valid examination and testing methods when available.
  • Create, review, and approve specification sheets for raw materials.
  • Verify that examinations and test methods are appropriate for their intended use.
  • Investigate and report all Out of Specification (OOS) results.
  • Calibrate and maintain records for lab equipment.
  • Work with all departments to ensure consistent, high-quality product.
  • Implement and maintain the stability program for all products.
  • Create, revise, and approve standard testing procedure.
  • Create, revise, and approve stability protocol.
  • Requires labeling packaging or movement of hazardous materials within the facility and must comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding disposal of these types of toxics.
  • Checking/reviewing of analytical data if required by following test methods and related SOP’s.
  • He/She is responsible to comply with all our food safety and food quality programs, procedures, and policies or its references. He/She shall ensure that all personnel in the company apply and meet established controls and follow all requirements applicable to the members of the Food Safety team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Biology or Chemistry preferred.
  • 0-2 years in a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of Analytical Chemistry preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Superior communication (verbal & written), ability to motivate, prioritize, and organize in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to address issues, follow up, and implement solutions as required.
  • Ability to carry weight up to 25 lb.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
