Vidyard is looking for a Director, Engineering to join our engineering leadership team. We are building the next chapter of our product-led growth story, and you are an engineering leader who will help us craft that strategy from a technical/feasibility standpoint. You will enable our developers to make the product customer journey as self-serve and delightful as it could possibly be, resulting in engagement loops driving more productivity and usage. Together, we will scale our ability to help companies succeed through the strategic use of online video.

About the Team

Our engineering team consists of ~70 developers across multiple product streams and a platform infrastructure team, led by a strong and accountable group of leads and directors. We are passionate about developer and employee experience and making Vidyard an amazing place to learn and ship. 

About the Role

In this role, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you will develop and lead several of our high-performing remote teams, with an engineering ethos that focuses on technical innovation, continuous improvement, and team collaboration. You will partner with our Design and Product organizations to plan and deliver the growth of our world-leading video sales and marketing platform along with the rest of our engineering leadership group.

Your First Year at Vidyard

  • You are fully accountable and trusted to deliver awesome user outcomes with your teams, balancing strategic investments and other opportunities uncovered by your teams in partnership with Product Management.
  • You are helping to evolve a performance culture of empathy, energy and ambition that empowers your teams
  • You are an key part of establishing our long-term strategies against our organizational and technology vision
  • You will have helped build an employee development program and strategy, showing clear successes in recruiting and the career/skill/diversity progression of your staff

What You’ll Bring to this Role and Your New Team:

  • You have 5 years experience as a manager, ideally as a “lead of leads”
  • You are proud of your track record of developing engineering talent through mentorship and leadership
  • You have a history of accountability, ownership and leading amazing outcomes in high-growth companies utilizing product-led growth strategy.
  • You are focused on customer value, with experience in dual-track development approaches to ensure a culture of ongoing learning and human impact in the Engineering group.
  • You have a background in software engineering
  • You are very experienced in collaborating effectively with roles outside of engineering
