Manufacturing Planner

Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Planner will execute the essential planning and scheduling activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of parts from the production floor.

Primary Responsibilities

• Creation and scheduling of manufacturing jobs
• Releasing manufacturing jobs to the production floor
• Identifying scheduling constraints for upcoming machine builds
• Allocating inventory for machine builds and service orders
• Reviewing production quantities for efficiency optimization
• Assisting with troubleshooting inventory issues related to the production floor
• Updating part/job setup based on production data and feedback from manufacturing and engineering
• Updating daily and weekly operations metrics
• Communicating updates on the status of parts and jobs
• Ensuring the proper closing of jobs in the ERP system

Accountability

• Accurate and timely scheduling of manufacturing jobs
• Accurate and timely allocation of inventory
• Accurate and timely closing of manufacturing jobs

Required Skills and Experience

• BS/BA in Business, or similar degree, or equivalent experience
• 2 years manufacturing planning experience or related work in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with ERP/ MRP, production planning, and inventory management systems
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective problem-solving skills

Preferred Software Experience

• ERP software - Epicor preferred
• Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook
