1st Shift Electrical Technician

**Pay based on experience**

Reports to – Electrical Maintenance Manager

Essential Duties -

  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain electrical distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical disconnects, batteries, and wiring.
  • Works with 12VDC to 480V AC.
  • Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances, using hand tools and testing instruments, to supply electrical power for lighting, equipment, and machine operations.
  • Operates, monitors and maintains utilities including HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) setup, maintenance and balancing, and process equipment.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities electrical equipment and systems in accordance with NEC, internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies.
  • Performs miscellaneous manual labor activities (e.g., sweeping and cleaning floors and work areas, picking up papers and refuse from grounds, assisting in the handling of heavy materials, making minor repairs, mowing lawns, and shoveling snow).
  • Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed.
  • Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Supervision, and fellow Technicians to accomplish the desired result.
  • Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, ability to be on-call and must be able to rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
  • Review, understand, and follow all Company specifications and procedures, and regulatory rules and requirements that are associated with the performance of this job.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department Manager.
  • Robotics is a plus but not required.

External qualifications required -

  • Must have a basic knowledge and experience in relay logic and industrial controls.
  • Must have a basic level of knowledge and experience reading wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors used in color-coding wires and electronic components.
  • Must be willing to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret the specifications and procedures related to this job.

  • Must pass the following tests upon direct hire:
    • Lift 50 pounds
    • 20/40 vision, corrective lenses allowed
    • 9-panel drug screen, urine or saliva
