METAL FINISHER - Greenwood, MS
JOB PURPOSE: Metal finishes parts by setting up and operating metal finishing equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:
Sets up and operates metal finishing equipment properly; proficient in assigned metal finishing techniques
Sets up and prepares appropriate materials and parts for metal finishing; including positioning parts on machines and other equipment
Uses machinery, as well as manual and power hand tools, to grind, sand, buff, polish, and finish various types of metal according quality and production standards; and correct defects using such equipment
Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operations
Observes metal finishing process to detect work piece defects and/or machine malfunctions
Performs daily TPM on machines and equipment
May be assigned to different workstations and machines as production needs require
Cleans work area and equipment by sweeping and dusting on, around, and under machines
Eliminates waste by following practices involved with the Lean Manufacturing Process
Maintains acceptable productivity levels
