Overview:
The Village of Athens is seeking a dynamic part-time Director to run the Athens Summer Recreation Program. This fun position has a direct impact on the children and families of the Village and Town of Athens. The Program is typically held for 4-6 weeks from 9am to noon Monday through Friday in July and August. The ideal candidate will be energetic, outgoing, and will enjoy creating a fun and exciting program and environment for Athen's children. Paid planning time.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of the children participating in the summer recreation program at all times
-Plans and organizes all activities for the program to ensure fun for all children enrolled
-Employs approved methods of care for children, ages 5-12 years
-Oversees the hiring, training, and work of summer recreation counselors
-Reports to and follows instructions from the Village of Athens Recreation Liaison to the Board.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children
-Is at least 21 years of age
-Is organized
-Has supervisor experience
-Has First Aid/CPR certification
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.50 - $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 17.50 – 20.00 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Working with children: 3 years (Required)
Ability to Commute:
- Athens, NY 12015 (Required)
Ability to Relocate:
- Athens, NY 12015: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
